Power Distribution Box DB-1 (RED Komodo-X / V-Raptor, Gold Mount) attaches to the V-Mount interface on the back of the camera and provides intelligent power distribution with D-Taps, 5V USB-C PD, 3pin Fischers, and 2pin LEMO compatible connectors. 9pin EXT cable enables remote start/stop capability using 3pin Fischer devices.
When using the DB-1 with communicative Gold Mount batteries, runtime data is converted to SMBUS, which the RED camera will display.
Configure the DB-1 in "high mode" which moves the distro box up so that it is flush with the bottom of the camera or in "low mode" where the box is flush with the top of the camera. Move the rod bracket to the bottom of the DB-1 to configure with pass-through rods and mount it further behind the camera as desired.
Adjust the distance to the camera body by unlocking the thumbscrew and moving the power plate in and out. 40mm rod extensions are also included for spacing the DB-1 even further from the camera body.
Deadlock bracket is included for permanently affixing the V-Mount interface to the camera body.
Also available in a 15mm LW Rod Mount only version if direct camera mounting is not required.
Hot-swap between on-board battery and 6pin LEMO-style connector without losing camera or accessory power. When both sources are connected, the DC INPUT takes priority down to 12.5V, at which point, the DB-1 will switch to an onboard battery.
The DB-1 can also be separated from its camera mount, revealing a 15mm LW rod clamp that can be attached to regular 15mm rods with lightweight spacing (60mm apart, center to center).
With the SMART FUSE design, camera power is monitored, and the remaining power budget is allocated to accessories. For example, the camera with 7in touchscreen uses approximately 3.0A at 14V so when using a 10A capable battery, the remaining 7.0A is allocated for accessory use. If an accessory configuration exceeds the 7.0A limit, accessory power is cut off, leaving the camera powered. The "SMART FUSE" LED will illuminate, showing the error, and once the configuration has been adjusted to lower than 7.0A, the RESET button can be pressed, and power will be re-enabled to accessory outputs.
In the event of a complete short circuit, the system will immediately shut down and can only be turned back on once the short circuit has been removed.
User changeable V-Mount Plates available as well.
