Power Distribution Box DB-15 (Sony FX5, Gold Mount, Cage Mounted) attaches to the vertical 15mm rod of the FX5 Top Handle Support Bracket + Upper Cage for Sony FX5 using a friction clamp so that the DB-15 can swing away to access the LCD and camera controls
DB-15 is an intelligent power distribution module that powers the camera using a USB-C Multi-Voltage output capable of 5, 9, 12, and 15V. When the FX5 is connected, it receives 9V, and the camera's internal NP-SA100 battery charges.
When the REMOTE cable is installed in the camera's lower USB-C port, ARRI standard triggering over 3pin Fischers is possible.
Accessory power outputs include 2x D-Taps, 5V USB-C PD, 2x 3pin Fischers, and 2x 2pin LEMO-compatible connectors.
Hot-swap between on-board battery and 4pin XLR DC INPUT without losing camera or accessory power. When both sources are connected, the DC INPUT takes priority down to 12.5V at which point, the DB-15 will switch to an onboard battery.
With the SMART FUSE design, camera power is monitored, and the remaining power budget is allocated to accessories. For example, the FX5 uses approximately 1.0A at 14V, so when using a 10A capable battery, the remaining 9.0A is allocated for accessory use. If an accessory configuration exceeds the 9.0A limit, accessory power is cut off, leaving the camera powered. The "SMART FUSE" LED will illuminate to show the error. Once the accessory configuration is adjusted to below 9.0A, press the RESET button to re-enable power to the accessory outputs.
In the event of a complete short circuit, the system will immediately shut down and can only be turned back on once the short circuit has been removed.
